IXI-Studio™ is a PC-based development and testing environment for mobile device and application developers bringing to market products based on IXI-Connect OS. The software suite enables developers to quickly and easily produce applications, reducing development times and allowing handset makers to deliver products faster and at a lower cost. IXI-Studio's tools include software emulation environments, documentation, sample code, and debugging tools and do not require any hardware expertise to use.

IXI-Studio block diagram

IXI-Studio consists of four main components:
MMI Builder - An easy-to-use menu-based graphical environment
for user interface development, including menus and navigation
flows. The MMI tool includes and editor, debugger, prototyper,
graphic library, document generator for easier user interface
development, testing and debugging. |
Cellular Network Simulator - An application for developers of devices based on IXI-Connect OS that simulates the cellular network without access to hardware or an actual cellular network. The software enables developers to model the performance of the target device's baseband semiconductor, protocol stack and cellular network. |
IXI-Connect OS SDK - Software development kit for developers of applications that run on IXI-Connect OS. IXI-Connect OS SDK is the IXI-Connect OS without the man-machine-interface running in a PC environment to provide device makers with a platform on which to develop new applications without access to the physical target device; |
Validation Test Suite - A collection of tools for testing and validation of IXI-Connect OS implementations, including man-machine-interfaces, either on a PC or a prototype device. The suite comes with an extensive collection of scripts to facilitate testing. |
Benefits:
Simplifies application development |
Shortens development time by facilitating simple-to-use tools for Windows development vs. embedded development |
Decouples development from hardware and network dependencies; enables application development without worrying about network or modem availability |
Simulates all system components on a single Windows machine; facilitates external development and demonstration |
Reduces development station cost (e.g., cellular cost) |
