Affordable mobile solution delivering popular messaging applications, including MSN Services, to be available in Uruguay initially

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., and MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay, 23 May 2006 – IXI Mobile, Inc., developer of the Ogo™ family of mobile messaging solutions for the mass market, and ANCEL, the leading mobile operator in Uruguay, today announced that they have joined forces on Ogo’s first Latin American launch, in Uruguay, where it is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2006.

Ogo devices are designed to bring mobile data to the mass market, via a combination of functional design, appealing applications, and affordability. Ogo delivers a true on-the-go mobile messaging experience with its full screen, QWERTY keyboard, easy-to-use interface and clamshell design. The first Latin American version of the Ogo includes the following services: POP3 and IMAP4 email, MSN Hotmail and MSN Messenger, GSM voice, gaming, and SMS. All required back-end services are hosted by IXI Mobile, enabling seamless integration with the mobile carriers’ networks.

“We believe Ogo is perfect for the Uruguay market: it offers a great messaging experience at an affordable price making it very attractive to our customers,” said Marcelo Erlich, Division Manager of ANCEL. He continued, “We are excited to be the first operator to bring Ogo to Latin America, and via IXI Mobile’s end-to-end solution, we are able to deliver this unique offering to market quickly and easily.”

This launch extends Ogo’s global reach into the large and growing Latin American market. Amit Haller, Co-Founder, President and CEO of IXI Mobile stated, "We feel that Latin America, with a population of over 550 million people, and significant mobile and Internet growth rates, provides an enormous opportunity for Ogo deployment.” He went on to say, “We look forward to our relationship with ANCEL, a progressive leader, and successfully serving the Uruguay market. We also hope to expand Ogo’s presence to other countries in Latin America, where the need for a mass market mobile messaging solution is prevalent."
